Hi Everybody, it’s me, Alex!

Leaving Dallas!Well, we flied to Minnesnowda on Mommy’s barfday! We getted there about 3:00 and Poppa picked us up at the airport. Poppa taked us to see Great-Grandma H. and then we meeted Nana for supper at this Mongolian place. It was pretty good. It was a little weird because you didn’t get your own table – they have big long tables and they sit lots of people next to you that you don’t know. It wasn’t too bad. There were some older people on my left and some high school girls on the other side of Poppa. They talked the whole time. I don’t know when they had time to eat because them talked so much!!

After supper we goed to Walmart to buy groceries for Great-Grandma Julie. It’s COLD in the car at night!! After we getted done in the store we getted back in the car and I shivered all the way to Great-Grandma’s!! Her was happy to see us and I getted to play with her two puppies while I was there.

Up, Up and AwayThe next day we goed to the Mall of America with Auntie Wisa, Miss Mouse and CJ. It was snowing hard when we leaved Nana and Poppa’s house. The roads were kinda slickery and the wind was blowing the snow all over the place. We meeted one of Mommy’s friends and The Liliputian there. I getted to meet the Moose from the Mini Golf place and we goed to the Build a Bear store it was HUGE!! Me and Miss Mouse and The Liliputian went to what used to be called Camp Snoopy to ride the rides. We had a great time!! By the time we leaved the Mall, the sun comed out and it was windy and getting colder. We eated dinner with more family and me and Mommy and Auntie Wisa taked some pie to Great-Grandma Julie. CJ and Miss Mouse and their daddy goed back to their hotel and went swimming in the pool.

Ack!! 20 Below Zero!!By morning it was -20°F!! My ears sticked straight up when I seed that!! Me and Mommy taked Poppa’s car and picked up Auntie Wisa from the hotel. Did I mention it’s COLD in the car? Anyway, we goed to this cool place called White Castle. I wish we had them in Texas!! We picked up a bunch of little burgers and fries and taked them to Great-Grandma H. We meeted Auntie Dane there and I watched some guys fishing on the lake while all the ‘girls’ talked. Nana maked sketti on Sunday, too, and that was yumm-o!! Auntie Wisa drived CJ and Miss Mouse back home because them had to go to school on Monday. I was sad to see them go.

Inside CandylandMommy’s other friend picked her up and taked her shopping on Monday morning. Me and Rover stayed with Nana and Poppa and them showed us how the stock market works. When Mommy getted home, Poppa taked us downtown to the eye doctor. Mommy’s eyes looked really funny!! We walked over to Candyland and I thought I was in Heaven!! We seed our old apartment and then we taked some cheese corn to Great-Grandma. Mommy said good-bye to her and then we goed back home. Me and Mommy packed up our suitcase to get ready for our flight on Tuesday. We had some lunch at Arby’s and then we visited some of Nana and Poppa’s friends before we goed to the airport.

We had a really good trip and it’s too bad we couldn’t stay longer. I kept Nana and Great-Grandma entertained, and they really liked the coat I borrowed from Klondike. I’m glad I had that or I’d have been a bunnysicle by the time I got back to Texas. I want to go on vacation again soon. Where should we go?

Hi Everybody, it’s me, Alex!!

Chorus - Dickens on the StrandWell, it’s been hot and cold here in Clear Lake, Texas. Yesterday Mommy and I went to Dickens on the Strand in Galveston. It was over 80 degrees and humid there. Last night it getted cold and was about 50F when we getted up. Right now it’s 44F and is posed to get to 36F tonight at ours house. Brrr freezing!! At least when it’s cold it feels more like Chrimmas in Minnesnowda!! Good thing it’s not posed to rain or we’d have ice and we’d be freezing our paws off!

Mommy putted up the lights outside on the patio and put up the ceramic tree in the living room. We all had our picture taked by it. We want the big tree put up but her said maybe this weekend we’ll have time. We finished buying our presents for the little kids from the Salvation Army tree this weekend. This year was hard because one little girl wanted Ponies stuff and we had a hard time finding it. The other little girl wanted Princesses stuff and hers was easy. We had fun shopping for them and when we were done Mommy buyed us a Dairy Queen Peppermint Chip Blizzard!! It was yummy!! Now, if only Auntie Wisa would help Miss Mouse and CJ get their lists done…

Pretty soon it will be time to make cookies!! We like making cookies and stuff. Rover comed back out a couple weeks ago and we makeded him a carrot cake. Bear was very good with the mixer and we eated the cake all up with our Flickr friends.

Well, Mommy said it was bedtime so I have to go for now. I have lots more to tell you about so stay tuned!!

Hi Everybody, it’s Me, Alex!!

Well, it’s almost Chrimmas time and that means a lot of different things to me. First, it means that if we’re really lucky, it might snow on Chrimmas. It doesn’t snow here in Houston very often, but it does in Auntie Wisa’s Houston. More important than having snow on Chrimmas is having family. We invited everybody in ours family to come to Houston for Chrimmas and nobody wants to come. That makes me sad because in the 11 years we’ve lived here, nobody has ever wanted to come to ours house for Chrimmas. If we wants to spend the holidays with our family, we gots to be the ones to buy the airplane tickets and stand in line and get all of our presents and ship them in boxes and fly to Minnesnowda and then ship all our presents back home and come back on the airplane. It’s not fair!!

salvation Army Angel TreeMost important, though, is helping other peoples have a better Chrimmas. Mommy makes sure every year that we can helps some little kids have a good Chrimmas. At work, Mommy gets cards from the Salvation Army Angel Tree and then we go buy presents for little boys and girls who wouldn’t have a Chrimmas otherwise. Then we donate toys to the Toys for Tots program, we help give some monies to the Food Bank so that hungry peoples can have Thanksgiving and Chrimmas dinner.

Will you, my online friends, help us helps other peoples, too? You don’t gots to donate to the same peoples we do because we know you lives in other places, but it’s important to reach out and help other peoples, especially this time of year when it’s cold and harder for peoples to get to their families.

Hi Everybody, it’s me, Alex!!

SpiderAuntie Wisa and Miss Mouse getted here yesterday on the airplane. We getted stuck in the rain last night and we were all very tired when we getted home. It was kind of gray and rainy looking again today. First we goed to Armand Bayou Nature Center. There were some HUGE spiders there. Auntie Wisa said her would have a heart attack if her found one of those in hers house. Mommy said it would get stomped before it got anywhere in our house. We seed some hawks and some turtles, too. They had alligators in tanks that we could look at. There’s some alligators in the bayou, but you have to go on a special tour to see them. Mommy thinked that Miss Mouse would get too freaked out to see a big alligator up close so we didn’t do that. There is a bison that lives at the Nature Center, but we didn’t get to see him. Him was hiding.

Sea Center TexasWe drived to Sea Center Texas in Lake Jackson. It rained and rained the whole way there. At one point it was raining so hard that you couldn’t see across the street!! Auntie Wisa and Miss Mouse sleeped almost the whole way there. Mommy says Auntie Wisa has always getted highway hypnosis. We seed lots of interesting stuff there, including some giant fishes. The great big fishy, Gordon the Grouper, weighs 225 pounds!! He’s bigger than our poppa!! There was turtles in a aquarium. They were cool. They must have thought we were there to feed them because they jumped off the rocks and tried to climb up the glass when we getted there. We left a donation in the box and headed back toward home. On the way, Mommy finded out the softball game was cancelled, so Auntie Wisa and Miss Mouse didn’t have to wear their new bright yellow shirts.

StingrayThe sky was starting to clear up so after supper we goed to Kemah. We seed lots of stuff there, like birds and boats and fishies and stingrays. Miss Mouse getted to feed the stingrays. We feeded the fishies, too. They were funny!! They jump all over the place to get to the fishy food. Mommy and Auntie Wisa buyed some tickets so us kids could ride the rides. Miss Mouse likes the carousel a lot. Her rided that a bunch. And the Yellow Submarine and the Frog Hopper and the Balloon Wheel. Her wouldn’t go on the big swing thingee or the ferris wheel with Mommy. We all rided the Boardwalk Tower and the Train.

ShimmerMiss Mouse getted a new friend at the Kemah Boardwalk, too. Her is a Star Pet unicorn and her name is Shimmer. She’s very pretty and very smart and very nice. Her maked friends with our friend Patrick. Him said he was in love. We made Miss Mouse promise that her would take pictures of Shimmer and get Auntie Wisa to post them on her Flickr site. Now they will be pen pals!!

Hi Everybody, it’s me, Alex!!

Nursery BabyWe picked up Auntie Wisa and Miss Mouse from the airport on Tuesday. We were all very happy to see them after they getted off the plane!! We taked them to Old Town Spring after the airport. Mommy said it was close to the airport and her had something to show Miss Mouse. When we getted there, Mommy finded a place called the Doll Hospital. We was scared her was going to make one of us have surgery! But we didn’t. The store was full of all kinds of dollies and Miss Mouse really likes dollies. Her finded a Nursery Baby that her really liked, but her mommy said her couldn’t get it. Everybody telled her to put it on her Christmas list, so her maked a list in the car while we was driving to supper.

CandyliciousIt taked a long time to get to supper because it was rush hour and it was raining very hard. Mommy was driving through lots and lots of water. There was waves in the street!! We didn’t take any pictures of that, though. We eated at a restaurant called Chuy’s. It was very good. After that we goed to Candylicious – this store is like going into a candy museum!! I think Auntie Wisa was impressed. After that we had ice cream at The Chocolate Bar next door. Miss Mouse had Chocolate Cookie Dough, Auntie Wisa had Peanut Butter and Mommy had Mint Chocolate Chip. It was all very yummy and we was all very full.

OH NO!!!!

Posted on: August 19, 2007

Hi Everybody, it’s me, Alex!!

OH NO!!! Tell me it isn’t so!!! Auntie Wisa and CJ and Miss Mouse and their daddy all live in Houston, Minnesota. Mommy talked to Auntie Wisa this afternoon and her said they had to evacuate because of flooding! They lives by the Root River dike and they had to leave in case too much water comed down the dike. Mommy said the paper has a article and it says the river is up to 19 feet and the dike can only hold back one more foot of water. The kids is okay because they is at their grandma and grandpa’s up on higher ground.

This could mean that Auntie Wisa and Miss Mouse can’t come to our house next week!!! NO, NO, NO!!! I have been looking forward to seeing them ALL summer and if they can’t come I’m going to cry!!

Everybody cross your fingers and pray or whatever that everyone goes home safe and the water goes down and nobody loses their houses or anything bad like that. Give your people extra hugs tonight.

Hi Everybody, it’s me, Alex!

H-DeanWell, we’re breathing a little easier here in Houston, TX today. The him-a-cane is ‘posed to go to Mexico on Wednesday. Mommy said that if it turns we’ll have to pack up quick and go somewhere else. Her doesn’t like storms like these. Our old daddy said that he would leave when the water was up to the back door. After we lived there a while, Mommy figgered out that if we waited that long, we’d only get out by boat and that would be bad. Since we don’t have a daddy no more and Mommy is ascared of him-a-canes, we pack up the car early and run away. Just like in Monty Python!! Hee-hee!!  Mommy says it will still prolly rain on Wednesday and maybe Thursday because Him-a-cane Dean is so big. Remember I said it was as big as Texas, right?

Today we’re resting with Mommy. Her worked a lot in the last two weeks and her is tired. We worked on her Flickr pictures, though, while her was taking a nap. Me and Bear finded all the places on the map for the pictures. Mommy said it’s time to get back to getting ready for Auntie Wisa and Miss Mouse. Yay!!! It’s a little more than a week before they gets here. We’re going to do lots of fun stuff while they is here!! Gotta go get the games ready!!

Love, Alex
